Put a copy of a writing sample in a plastic sleeve.

Get a permanent marker.


Are your students familiar with this type of task?


If your students are familiar with the structure, but you’d like to make sure they are – hide the important language and leave the rest visible – students are to guess what’s missing.


Keep the most important language for this type of tasks visible (paragraph starters, linkers, phrases used to give an opinion, etc.) and hide the rest – this way you’ll focus students’ attention on the structure.
